Our Mission Statement

We are dedicated to providing family-based services to support and empower families. We have a highly trained team working to strengthen families by helping them make decisions about their future, gain skills to improve relationships, and provide safe, loving environments for one another.

Our Services

Family Group Decision Making

The purpose of FGDM meetings is for families to work together to plan for needs, next steps, safety, and support to ensure a successful future. Each family has unique insights as to what they need and what works best for them.

The definition of “families” for FGDM meetings is everyone involved in a family’s life and could include friends, neighbors, service providers, and any other people in a family’s support network.

The meeting is an opportunity to share information, ask questions, and bring collective understanding in a safe and respectful environment.

FGDM Platforms

We are happy to offer both virtual FGDM meetings and in person meetings. Virtual meetings take place using Microsoft Teams and typically last 2-3 hours. Participants are welcome to join from wherever they are using whichever technology device they choose.

The location of in person FGDM meetings is determined during the coordination process and takes place in a comfortable, neutral environment. This type of meeting typically lasts from 3-4 hours and the CFS team travels anywhere in the state to best meet the needs of the participants.

We offer FGDM meeting hours during the business day, evenings, and weekends.

CFS Team Roles in FGDM Meetings

The CFS team are neutral providers of FGDM meetings. One team member coordinates the meeting and joins another team member to co-facilitate the meeting.

The co-facilitators are responsible for organizing the agenda, ensuring all items are covered, taking detailed notes, and establishing and maintaining a respectful, safe environment for participants to share their ideas and make future plans.

Family Based Services

Visit Supervision

The visit supervisor ensures a safe environment for children and parents to spend time together to aid in maintaining parent-child relationships as a basis for family reunification. The visit supervisor ensures that appropriate interactions occur while allowing the parent to initiate activities and tend to their children on their own.

The visit supervisor intervenes in the case of safety concerns and documents the entire visit. The visit supervisor works in conjunction with the referring county agency, family, foster providers, and other service providers, when applicable, to choose the location, days, times, and transportation needs of each visit.

Parent Education & Family Skills

The parent educator shares and implements resources to develop parent-child resiliency, positive behaviors, parenting skills, and resource and support systems. The parent educator promotes and encourages healthy engagement while reducing the risk of vulnerability. The parent educator ensures that resources are matched with each family’s needs and are age and developmentally appropriate.

The parent educator works in conjunction with the referring county agency, family, foster providers, and other service workers, if applicable, to choose location, days, times, and transportation needs. The parent educator provides summaries of each session that highlights goals, obstacles, and discussions surrounding skills and needs.
